On 9 September, 58 prisoners took water baptism in the Burgas prison. Indeed, 170 people was enrolled to participate. This means that about 20 percent of men there are willing to do so.

2 weeks later one of the prisoners, Yordan Vassilev told us the following: “On that day I had cold and not feeling well, but I told myself that whatever happens I will take baptism. The next day, not only that I was not worse, but I did not even had cold”. The water was cold, straight from the fountains (between 8 and 12 degrees) and the pool was constantly supplemented. Of 58 prisoners who took baptism no one is sick and we have even one cured of a cold!

We have great favor of management. They agreed with the team, which came to serve the prisoners, to be someone who is serving a sentence of more than 8 years and now he is out there and has not renounced his faith, but on the contrary, he develops well, has a job, marry and wants to help his former "colleagues". Today he was with us. This is a great confidence, having in mind that in Burgas from 900 prisoner 700 were recidivists, ie more than one crime.

Another interesting thing is that the management has issued a pass for Georgi Kolev, whu serve  with us for years in prison and is of Roma origin and is part of the church in Kableshkovo. This gap gives him the right to enter to jail without approving procedures that sometimes lasted an hour. Also it is not necessary to have a social worker accompanying his movement in jail. We do not believe for one inferior or superior than another, and described above should not be a wonder, but we enjoy the process of change in the thinking of these people to trust the fidelity of the Roma in our team.

BURGAS PRISON

In Bourgas Prison we work from 1998. God commend us to preach to the people who are bound and we believe that the change which we see in the prison is a small transformation of this which God has prepared for our city. At the moment 80 people are coming to our meetings , considering that a lot of people are working and they don`t have the opportunity to come. Inside the prison we baptized 3 people , we made a concert : “Let it be freedom “  including a play about God`s  judgement. Beside that we have twice a week leader`s meetings. One meeting is leading by the leader of the ministry in prison. The prisoners themselves started a church in another prison , which is near Bourgas.

We have the support of the team leaders of the prison and they admit the advantage of our presence there. They are wondering about the difference which they see in the prisoners.
